How much will my video cost? How long is a piece of string? There are too many variables for me to be able to answer that without sitting down, chatting with you and finding out exactly what you really want. I need your vision of what your video will look like when it's finished so I can share my vision of how I can give you what you want (or hopefully something even better!) but also what you can afford. So the best way to start is for you to drop me a line, or give me a call .. and let's chat.
-
What makes you different from other wedding videographers?“For me, it’s all about the story. There’s so much more to every wedding than just a bride and a groom. There’s the story that’s led to that day, your dreams for the future, family stories, the stories of the rest of the bridal party and how those stories connect with your own. I love using everything from quotes from a speech, to the hidden glances captured that most people didn’t even notice, to create a wedding film that retells those stories in a way you’ll never get tired of watching."
-
What will I actually get?“At the end of every wedding or any event I film, there will always be several films: the film the bride and the groom or the event organisers want to see, the film their closest friends and families want to see - and the film you post on Facebook for everybody else to see. Ofcourse, they’re three very different films. So depending on the package you choose, you could get: 1/. A “Highlights” film - a five to seven minute snapshot of the best bits of the day or event, set to music. 2/. A longer “Documentary” film, fifteen to twenty minutes of footage divided up into sections with footage from the different parts of the wedding day including preparations for the Bridal Party and Groom’s party, the ceremony, the photographs and the reception. With this film, I like to be able to weave in quotes from chats I record with the bride and groom and one or two others to tell the love story that has led us all to this day. 3/. A complete set of films, which include the two options detailed above as well as complete footage of the wedding ceremony and all of the speeches in full. I present these films to you in specially gift-boxed USB drives."
-
How long does it take after the wedding, until we receive our wedding film? "“I can give you a more accurate idea closer to the day - but the turnaround time is usually between two and three months. I know, it seems like a long time. But to create a film that will make you feel like you’re living the whole day again, takes time and creativity."
-
What sort of equipment do you use?“I have a Sony HXR-NX30P and a Sony HXR-NX3 and a DJI Osmo integrated camera and gimbal for motion filming along with a kit bag of video lights, tripods and sliders needed to capture every aspect of the day in truly cinematic style.”
-
What is your approach to filming a wedding or event video?“I love capturing spontaneity. Sure, all wedding films should have the vows and the kiss, the speeches and the Bridal Waltz. But they’re the things you know are going to happen. I love also capturing the little things no one knew would happen and few were there to see - like the moment the bride’s father reaches for his daughter’s hand as they’re about to walk down the aisle, the groom and his mother sharing a laugh, the love etched in a grandparent’s face as rings are exchanged, the wonderful scenes that unfold when close friends and family come together to celebrate the start of a new chapter of their shared story. I never want to just film a wedding or event - I want to capture the feelings and emotions of the day and pull them all together in such a way that everyone who ever sits down to watch the film, will feel experience those feelings and emotions themselves."
-
What is the process of having a wedding video filmed?“We should talk. Drop me a line or give me a call and let’s make a time to chat over coffee. I want to hear your story and hear your thoughts on how you want that story told. I’ll share with you some of my ideas of how it could look and we’ll get a better picture of the sort of film we could create together. If you look around this site you’ll get a rough idea of the sort of films I like to make, but you’ll only get half the story. Because everyone is different and every wedding day unfolds in a completely different way. The energy varies as much as the light and the feel of the surroundings. So let’s catch up and take the first step in creating a memory you’ll want to show your children and your grandchildren."
-
Do you travel?“I’m happy to travel anywhere to help you create the perfect memory of the greatest day of your life. My carry-on baggage may just nudge the allowable limit, but it can be done."
